I have a huge lump in my throat for the gratitude I feel for this woman. She’s a woman of faith who sees everything from a perspective of giving and hope. Our paths converged when I moved back to KC. @bethanyjshipley kept saying “mom, you have to meet @crystaldburchfield. Your health hurdles are so similar. And she gets it”. When we met, I felt that to the core of me.
She has a heart full, always. Even amidst pain points you’ll find her finding a stash of joy and love to give out like candy.
As I was painting, I prayed that what she gives be multiplied upon her. And a few nights ago I had a dream about her. Her Nanny was clapping with exuberance with every dance step she took. Every twirl in the sunset gloriousness broke ancestral oppressive chains.
Having the privilege to paint my fellow sunset lover soul sister has been so meaningful.
I love you, dear. You are a hero modeling free-ness for all of us.
